Damn Small Linux (DSL) 4.4.3, the versatile mini desktop Linux distribution, was announced today by its maintainer, Robert Shingledecker. This new version introduces a handful of system modifications:
• editor.lua was replaced by the Fltk editor;
• calculator.lua was replaced by flminicalc;
• exit.lua was replaced by dslexit;
• /etc/filesystems was updated;
• better hostname support;
• minirt24.gz was updated to support knoppix_dir and toram;
• new bootfloppy;
• many unused files were removed.
While being powered by JWM (Joe’s Window Manager), Damn Small Linux 4.4.3 includes powerful and useful applications for daily usage. Among these applications, we could notice the popular Dillo, Netrik and Firefox web browsers, the Sylpheed e-mail client, Xzgv image viewer, Xpaint photo editor and the emelFM file manager.
